Fishing For Increase

February 14th, 2007

Have you ever wondered why you weren’t born to rich parents? Or why God doesn’t just make you rich? After all the Bible tells us that we are “heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus Christ” and that “money answers all things”. Here’s a related question– why do churches and ministries have to receive offerings? I mean, if they’re “doing the Lord’s work” why doesn’t He just make the needed funds appear in their bank accounts?

The cynic might say that tithes and offerings are just a scam– a way of separating people from their money. The merely religious claim no interest in prosperity, often equating poverty with spirituality and then raise millions in a capital stewardship drive. There is, however, a reason that God doesn’t just make money appear (besides not being a counterfeiter) and a reason for tithes and offerings.

The answer is found in the word “holiness”.

Holiness has little to do with big hair for Jesus or any of the trappings and trippings of the Law. The word means “self limited”. Transcendant God–God beyond God–limited Himself (and even associating gender to God reflect that limitation) in His dealings with creation. He had to–our finite minds couldn’t comprehend infinite God. Were God to reveal Himself as He we would feel compelled to serve Him and lose the greatest treasure given to humanity–free moral agency–the right to choose. So He limited Himself. When God gave Israel The Law He did it to give them some sense of the limitations by which He limited Himself.

What does all of this have to do with tithe, offerings, and miracle money? Everything. God is limited to working in us and through us. As we respond to the promise– “Bring all the tithe into the storehouse” we loose God to work in and through our lives. As we operate in spiritual laws like Luke 6:38 “Give and it shall be given unto you, pressed down, shaken together, running over shall men give to you”–God begins to work in and through our lives to create abundance.

All of this became a reality a few days ago when a friend asked me to speak at his church in Alabama, “and by the way we need a $100,000″ in cash and pledges.  God spoke a message in moment of inspiration that deals with all of the above and the ways and means by which God prospers our lives. I shared this message with the church in Alabama and the response was astounding as men and women learned how to experience increase in five simple steps. If you would like a CD of the message just go to my main website and make a donation of any amount–make certain that we have your name and address. I believe tha this message will help you to achieve new levels of prosperity–however you define it.

Be Blest!

Angel of Lost Things

January 17th, 2007

It is one of the most provocative “revelations” that I have ever shared–and may be one of the most practical too! Almost every week someone sends me an e-mail with an “Angel of Lost Things’ story. This week it was a college professor (in the computer field no less) that lost two very important envelopes, neither of which had her return address on them. She retraced her steps, looked in her car, searched her pockets and they were no where to be found. Finally she wrote, “I just asked the angel of lost things to return them to me.” Later that day she noticed that one of her students had both envelopes stuck in his book bag. She told him the story and reclaimed her envelopes. Co-incidence? Did I mention that this happened on the campus of the second largest junior college in the United States? Chalk up another one for the “angel of lost things”. If you want to read more about the angel of lost things get a copy of my book– “Invisible Lines of Supply”.
